Welcome
My name is Elizabeth Kelly. I am the proud mother of 6 exclusively breastfed children. For 25+ years, I have guided families on their breastfeeding journey. I've had the pleasure of supporting families worldwide: Canada, United States, Russia, and Israel.
My studies in lactation medicine are extensive: La Leche League Canada, Stanford University, Childbirth & Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA), University of Calgary, Lactation Education Resources (LER), and the Breastfeeding Committee for Canada. My commitment to the advancement of lactation deepened when I studied Herbal Medicine in England.
My work as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is extremely rewarding. I have partnered with doctor's offices, Ontario EarlyON Child and Family Centres, and William Osler Hospital. It is a privilege to be part of a family’s breastfeeding dialogue.
My breastfeeding journey started over 25 years ago. I encountered significant breastfeeding challenges with my daughter. However, with support, education, patience, and perseverance, I breastfed her for 2+ years. This sparked my passion for lactation medicine.
Prior to my breastfeeding journey, I was a student of academia. My graduate studies in medical anthropology focused on the determinants of health that impact the human condition. Medical anthropology is a powerful tool for examining humanity as it relates to biocultural and social-ecological perspectives.
At Latchie, I can express both my love for lactation and medical anthropology. I am passionate about educating and empowering families to navigate through the complexities of breastfeeding.
